Competition Teams

Our Competition Program is divided into two teams:

Diamond Explosion (ages 10+)

Pink Fusion (ages 7+)

Diamond Explosion and Pink Fusion are local performance and

competition teams.

Competition Team Rules & Requirements

Teams, such as Diamond Explosion and Pink Fusion,

are offered for dancers that are looking for a deeper commitment

to dance. Its purpose is to develop the dance students through

performance and competitive opportunities. Performing on a stage
is a unique experience and gives the dancers perspective. It
essentially ties together what they’ve learned in the classroom.
Tryouts will be held each year for team placement. Students will be
scored by 3 judges. The top scores on the bracket will determine
the new team members. During the season, Mrs. Brandi will evaluate
each student individually as well as how the dancer works with other
dancers in each teams’ environment. Discretion will be used to move
students to a different class if needed at any time of the year.
You will learn some quick and intense choreography in a
short time. You will also get to know your team as well as other
performance team friends while working on team building skills.

Please remember this is a Performance Team, not a competitive

team. We are here to support the love and art form of dance by

using it at its greatest form: Performance.

Requirements

· You must put all your dates on a calendar so you do not miss any

performances. Please remember this is a commitment to your team

and missing a performance will make it hard on your teacher and

other team members. If there is an emergency or you need to be

excused from a performance, you will need to contact your team

teacher at least 4 weeks prior to the date in order for your teacher to

make proper changes.

· Attendance is required. Absences will not be tolerated. You are only

allowed 3 excused absences through the entire year. You must

contact your team teacher to let them know if you will be absent. If

you end up with 3 absences, you will need to make-up in technique

class. More than 3 absences may result in dismissal from the team.

(Leaving early from class will result in an absence.)

· Each dancer will respect and honor their team by signing and

holding true to a team commitment form.

· Diamond Explosion members are required to wear make-up for all

performances.

· All students are required to wear a tight, flawless ballerina bun to all performance, unless given different instructions directly from Mrs. Brandi. Therefore, students must know how to style their own bun (or have a parent’s help.) Practice if you need to.

· Students must look uniformed or they will not be allowed to perform.

·Have a great attitude and be ready to work hard!

***All students and parents must understand that participating on Diamond Explosion or Pink Fusion is a privilege. Only students who fully know each routine will be allowed to perform. Each student’s ONLY guaranteed performance will be the end of the year’s Recital (unless they have 3 or more absences.) All other performances and competitions are privileges and students must work hard both inside and outside the studio if they wish to participate.

Cost

2 Costumes ($40-$60 each)

Summer Tuition $65/month (1.5-2 hours per week. *Friday rehearsals may be required depending on the readiness for a show.)

Fall/Winter & Spring Tuition $65/month
